About the Role

Principal Machine Learning Engineer to lead the ShortForm & Video Intelligence pod at Paramount. This role builds multi-modal ML systems that automatically transform long-form content into short-form clips and highlights, including video safety and narrative understanding. The position requires deep expertise in computer vision, multi-modal architectures, and leadership of senior technical teams.

Responsibilities

Lead the ShortForm Pod: Define technical roadmap for automated clip generation and manage a pod of ML engineers.
Architect multi-modal models that synthesize video, audio, and text signals for content understanding.
Own video intelligence, developing and scaling computer vision and audio classifiers for nudity, profanity, and sensitive content detection.
Advance narrative understanding by building models that identify hooks, climax points, and narrative summaries.
Implement spoiler and context detection to ensure short-form assets don't ruin the viewing experience.
Partner with Content Engineering to integrate models into petabyte-scale video processing workflows.

Requirements

6-8+ years of experience in machine learning, with heavy focus on Computer Vision and Multi-Modal architectures.
Mastery of PyTorch or TensorFlow, specifically for video-based tasks (e.g., Video Transformers, 3D CNNs).
