About the Role
Okta's Secures AI team is building an Identity Security Fabric for the agentic era, enabling enterprises to safely deploy AI agents with governance and least-privilege access. As a Staff FullStack Engineer, you will architect the control plane for discovering, onboarding, protecting, and governing both human and non-human identities. This role combines distributed systems, fullstack web development, and AI-native engineering practices.
Responsibilities
- Shape technical strategy for the Identity Security Fabric, prioritizing open standards like IPSIE.
- Implement the four-pillar maturity model (Discover, Onboard, Protect, Govern) across fullstack ecosystems.
- Architect systems to discover and secure AI agents, including Shadow AI assets.
- Enforce secure access and least privilege through Agent Gateways and short-lived credentials.
- Drive adoption of AI-native development practices across design, review, and shipping workflows.
- Manage tech debt and improve CI/CD, observability, documentation, reliability, and support processes.
- Partner with Product and Design to own customer outcomes and mentor peer engineers.
Requirements
- Experience defining scalable backend architectures and integrating complex APIs with modern web technologies.
- Solid understanding of web authentication and authorization fundamentals.
- Deep expertise in building reliable, secure enterprise-grade software with Java or another type-safe language.
