About the Role
Motorola Solutions seeks a Director of Computer Vision to lead research and engineering for its video security and analytics platform. The role involves defining the long-term research agenda, providing executive technical leadership, managing a distributed team of 50-100, and overseeing end-to-end MLOps and deployment. This is a full-time remote position based in Canada.
Responsibilities
- Define foundational research strategy for computer vision capabilities
- Provide executive technical leadership and define technical architecture and roadmap
- Manage and scale a unified computer vision research and engineering organization
- Own the entire engineering lifecycle for central computer vision models and AI infrastructure
- Define and track key technical performance metrics (latency, throughput, reliability)
- Evaluate and integrate cutting-edge computer vision technologies and mitigate technical risks
Requirements
- 10+ years of technical leadership experience leading computer vision teams
- Deep expertise in computer vision, machine learning, and MLOps lifecycle
- Proven ability to define long-term technical vision and engineering roadmaps
- Experience managing a distributed engineering and research organization of 50-100 people
- Hands-on experience with AI performance metrics, real-time video processing, and inference optimization
