Software Engineer, Systems ML

Meta is seeking a senior Software Engineer for Systems ML to design and optimize distributed ML training and inference systems. This role involves applying AI-assisted development workflows, building incident response dashboards, and collaborating on ML system co-design. The position also includes mentoring engineers and publishing systems ML research findings.

• Apply AI-assisted development workflows
• Build dashboards and runbooks for incident response
• Collaborate on ML system co-design with engineering teams
• Communicate technical trade-offs and experimental results
• Define service level objectives and reliability standards
• Design distributed ML training and inference systems
• Develop and evaluate training and inference acceleration techniques
• Establish performance benchmarking and profiling pipelines
• Lead systems ML architecture and delivery
• Mentor engineers on distributed training patterns
• Optimize compute, memory, and communication for ML
• Publish systems ML research findings

• Experience with C++, CUDA, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and distributed systems
• Knowledge of deep learning, model parallelism, and performance profiling
• Familiarity with co-design, compiler optimization, and hardware-software integration
