Senior Machine Learning Engineer/Machine Learning Engineer III

Workday is building the next generation of AI agents in their Agent Factory. As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will design and build core ML systems for LLM-powered agents, including RAG pipelines and orchestration frameworks, working in small cross-functional teams. This role involves end-to-end ownership from data strategy to deployment and monitoring.

• Design and build core ML systems behind Workday's AI agents. Implement and evolve frameworks for LLM-powered agents including RAG pipelines, workflow orchestration, evaluation, and feedback loops. Partner with software engineers, product managers, and data scientists to integrate agents into the Workday stack. Ensure solutions are scalable, observable, and enterprise-ready.

• 7+ years experience in data science/ML engineering building applied ML products at scale (for Senior) or 5+ years (for III). 3+ years in ML frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow. Experience building services to host ML models in production. Experience with LLMs and graph neural networks. Cloud platform experience (AWS, GCP). Proven leadership/mentoring skills. Bachelor's degree in engineering, CS, physics, or math.

• Master's or PhD preferred. Experience with autonomous agents and orchestration frameworks. Deep understanding of statistical analysis, unsupervised and supervised ML, NLP for information retrieval/recommendation systems. Excellent communication skills.
