About the Role
Kiln AI, a well-funded Toronto startup founded by ex-Apple AI team, builds a workbench for AI teams. They are seeking a versatile AI Engineer/FDE/Data Scientist to work closely with the founding team, build modern AI systems, and engage with customers. The role involves open-source AI development, agentic systems, and technical content writing.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the founding team (senior ex-Apple AI)
- Build modern AI systems with Kiln customers and users
- Work with new AI technology and models as soon as they are released
- Contribute to open-source AI development and closed-source development
- Write technical content and analysis
Requirements
- Ability to code with and without AI
- Experience building agentic systems or ML systems
- Willingness to wear many hats (mix of FDE, AI development, analysis, writing)
- Education in software engineering, computer science, or similar
- 0-5 years of experience in tech
