Keysight Technologies is seeking a motivated engineering intern to support the implementation of Smart Visual Inspection within its Austin Order Fulfillment and packaging operations. The intern will develop and validate a computer-vision-enabled inspection process for packaging and finished-product verification, working closely with engineering, operations, quality, and production teams. The role offers hands-on experience in smart manufacturing, including building image datasets, training and testing CV models, optimizing camera and lighting setups, and documenting inspection workflows for production use.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Smart Visual Inspection solutions for packaging and finished-product inspection
- Capture, organize, and annotate image datasets for computer-vision model training
- Train and test CV models for object presence, quantity verification, label/text recognition, and orientation checks
- Evaluate model performance and tune confidence thresholds to balance false accepts and false rejects
- Optimize cameras, fixtures, workstations, and diffuse lighting for reliable inspection
- Record test results, support root-cause analysis, and develop SOPs and work instructions
- Present project status, validation results, and recommendations to engineering and operations stakeholders
