Huawei Canada is seeking a Senior AI Research Engineer to join the Graphics Technology Lab within the Central Media Technology Institute. The role focuses on advanced research and engineering in AI-based rendering techniques, neural rendering, and transferring solutions to real-world Huawei products. The position requires leading projects and mentoring junior engineers.
Responsibilities
Develop and lead projects, team ideas, and mentor junior engineers.
Conduct advanced research and engineering on AI-based rendering techniques including neural rendering acceleration, neural material representation, and neural texture compression.
Transfer advanced research AI/CG solutions to solving real-world problems integrated into Huawei products.
Provide expert opinions and summarize research findings in high-quality papers or patents.
Requirements
Solid industry engineering experience over 5 years.
Industry work experience in CG related field over 3 years with hands-on development.
MSc/Ph.D. in computer science or related fields with focus on applied ML to computer graphics or computer vision.
Extensive background in machine learning and deep learning (DNN, GAN, ViT, Diffusion).
