AI Research Engineer - Reinforcement Learning

Helsing is a defence AI company seeking an AI Research Engineer to develop and deploy reinforcement learning agents for autonomous aerial platforms. You will work on cutting-edge RL techniques, from simulation training to real-time deployment on flight-ready hardware. This role involves owning the full pipeline and collaborating with world-leading experts.

• Develop and integrate state-of-the-art reinforcement learning agents into operational systems. Build the autonomy brain for a cutting-edge autonomous aerial platform. Own the full pipeline from large-scale simulation training to real-time deployment on flight-ready hardware.

• MSc in Reinforcement Learning, Robotics, or related field. Hands-on experience building, training, and deploying RL agents. Familiarity with modern RL techniques (PPO, SAC, population-based training). Solid software engineering skills in Python and/or Rust/C++. Excellent communication skills.

• PhD in RL or related field, experience with large-scale distributed RL training, multi-agent RL, flight dynamics, safety-critical systems.
