About the Role
GitLab is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect specializing in AI to serve as a subject matter expert for core DevOps. This role involves shaping how teams apply AI across the software development lifecycle, from planning to operations. You will work with customers and internal teams to map AI use cases to real-world challenges and guide technical strategy.
Responsibilities
- Serve as GitLab's AI subject matter expert for core DevOps, providing technical depth and practical guidance.
- Partner with customers and field teams to map AI use cases to software development lifecycle challenges.
- Develop and share informed perspectives on the future of AI in software development.
- Engage with product-aligned teams to ensure domain expertise reflects platform capabilities.
- Evaluate architectural tradeoffs such as monoliths vs microservices and monorepos vs polyrepos in AI context.
- Collaborate asynchronously with teammates across regions.
Requirements
- Significant experience in software development, DevOps, platform engineering, or solutions architecture.
- Deep interest and hands-on experimentation with AI in software development.
- Strong technical foundation in modern software delivery practices including automation and CI/CD.
- Ability to discuss architectural and operational tradeoffs (Kubernetes, microservices, monorepo).
