[Remote] ML Data Engineer

Outpost is seeking an ML Data Engineer to own the accuracy of their computer vision system for truck and trailer storage. The role involves tracking CV accuracy metrics, investigating misclassifications, curating datasets, and improving continuous learning pipelines. Ideal candidates have production computer vision experience, strong Python skills, and data annotation expertise.

• Own tracking and reporting of CV accuracy metrics per customer and identifier type
• Investigate misclassifications and false negatives, categorize root causes, and identify patterns
• Curate, label, and prioritize datasets for model retraining in partnership with ML and CV engineers
• Build and improve the continuous learning pipeline so new models ship weekly
• Define functional acceptance criteria for CV accuracy per customer and track progress
• Translate accuracy findings into decisions for engineering and customer-facing stakeholders
• Progress from flagging issues to fixing them directly, including building labeling/preprocessing tooling and running retraining jobs

• 3+ years in data quality, ML data engineering, or applied ML role
• Experience with computer vision or object detection systems in production
• Comfortable writing Python for data analysis, pipeline automation, and dataset tooling
