About the Role
Experian's GenAI Centre of Expertise is seeking a mid-level Data Scientist to work on generative AI and machine learning projects. The role involves experimentation, evaluation, and AI engineering, collaborating with product and engineering teams to deliver impactful AI solutions.
Responsibilities
- Work with product, engineering, and business teams to turn ideas into clear problem statements and success metrics
- Design and run experiments to evaluate GenAI systems, including baseline comparisons and error analysis
- Help refine GenAI solutions using modern development practices and AI-assisted coding tools
- Communicate results, trade-offs, limitations, and recommendations
- Spend ~10% of time on learning and knowledge sharing
Requirements
- Experience working as a data scientist (or similar role) with applied machine learning and Python programming
- Comfortable working with incomplete information and exploring through experimentation
- Keen to develop broader AI engineering and product-focused skills
- Ability to join up product, data, and engineering context to spot issues early
Nice to Have
- Exposure to software engineering practices (version control, testing, OOP)
