AI Data Engineer

Senior AI Data Engineer needed for a remote contract role in Canada. The role focuses on data engineering, cloud, AI/ML, and generative AI, including building pipelines, data warehousing, and LLM-based applications. Ideal candidates have 7-10 years of experience and strong expertise in Python, SQL, Spark, and cloud platforms.

• Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and data warehouses using Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift
• Implement AI/ML and generative AI solutions, including LLMs, RAG, embeddings, and prompt engineering
• Manage vector databases and integrate with tools like LangChain, LlamaIndex, and agentic AI frameworks
• Orchestrate workflows with Airflow, dbt, and Kafka
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile practices, REST APIs, Git, and CI/CD

• 7-10 years of experience in data engineering, cloud, and AI/ML
• Strong hands-on Python and SQL skills
• Experience with Spark/PySpark
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
• Familiarity with LLMs, RAG, embeddings, and vector databases
• Experience with cloud AI services such as Azure OpenAI, OpenAI APIs, AWS Bedrock, or Vertex AI
• Proficiency with LangChain/LlamaIndex and agentic AI
