CGI is seeking a Lead AI Platform Engineer to design and maintain a scalable, production-ready AI platform in Montreal. The role involves integrating cloud AI services like Azure OpenAI, implementing RAG pipelines, and ensuring operational stability through MLOps practices. You will act as the technical owner of the platform, bridging architecture decisions with hands-on deployment and security requirements.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain AI platform components including inference services and reusable libraries.
- Integrate cloud-based AI services (Azure OpenAI, OpenAI) with secure access controls and cost optimization.
- Implement RAG solutions involving embeddings, vector databases, and pipeline design.
- Establish standards for logging, monitoring, versioning, and secrets management.
- Provide technical leadership and contribute to the AI roadmap and architectural direction.
Requirements
- Intermediate to senior profile with ~5 years of software development experience and significant hands-on AI production experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python and expertise in APIs, microservices, and data processing.
- Practical experience with LLMs, API integration, and RAG architectures.
