Apple is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join the Foundation Model Inference team within Cloud OS. You will optimize and deploy large-scale foundation models for Apple Intelligence, Siri, and other core services, focusing on inference efficiency and hardware/software co-design. This role bridges research and production, requiring expertise in deep learning architectures and high-performance computing infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Build and optimize inference systems for billion-parameter foundation models at planetary scale.
- Collaborate with research teams to transition model architectures from prototype to production deployment.
- Own hard problems in inference efficiency, systems architecture, and tooling.
- Work closely with platform and security teams to ensure performance and privacy guarantees.
Requirements
- Experience leading complex machine learning projects end-to-end.
- Proficiency in PyTorch or JAX.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Rust, or Go.
- Experience deploying applications on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) using Kubernetes and Docker.
- MS in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, or related field.
