Apple is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to join the News, Books, and Stocks team. The role involves delivering scalable machine learning services for text extraction, named entity recognition, duplicate detection, search, ranking, and more. The ideal candidate will work with interdisciplinary partners to design user-facing ML features and contribute to a strong culture of respect and inclusion.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver scalable machine learning services for news, books, and stocks domains. Solve problems in text extraction, NER, duplicate detection, search, and ranking. Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners to craft user-facing ML features. Contribute to a team culture of respect and inclusion.
Requirements
- MS in Machine Learning, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years shipping ML models in products. Strong programming in Python, Java, or similar, and deep learning toolkits like PyTorch or TensorFlow. Experience with recommender systems and text-centric AI/ML. Experience delivering high quality software at scale. Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience in a technical leadership role.
