Abundant is seeking a Member of Technical Staff to build and scale its core simulation infrastructure, enabling next-generation AI models to learn reasoning through complex environments. You will own key components of the simulation engine, optimize throughput and cost at scale, and transition seamlessly between customer-facing products and internal systems. The role requires deep expertise in LLMs, AI agents, and reinforcement learning, alongside a founder-like ownership mindset.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the core simulation engine, adding features and optimizing performance metrics like throughput and cost
- Scale software infrastructure to handle 10B+ events and tens of thousands of monthly users
- Collaborate directly with the Head of Engineering to deploy customer-facing products and internal tools
- Help establish engineering culture and technical standards as the team scales
Requirements
- Deep technical fluency in evaluations, reinforcement learning, and LLM/agent architectures
- Ability to read research papers and stay current with state-of-the-art literature
- Highly proficient with AI coding assistants such as Codex or Claude Code
- Strong ownership mentality with resourceful, scrappy problem-solving skills
