Staff Machine Learning Engineer

Zoom is building the next generation of AI Companion powered by Agentic Retrieval. This role involves designing and developing core retrieval and reasoning systems for AI-powered workflows across enterprise apps. You will work on the Agentic Retrieval team to build scalable retrieval systems and RAG pipelines.

• Designing and building scalable retrieval systems using vector and semantic search
• Designing and optimizing RAG pipelines for multi-step AI agents
• Building indexing pipelines for enterprise data
• Developing ranking and relevance modeling frameworks
• Ensuring permission-aware retrieval and multi-tenant isolation
• Partnering with product and research teams

• Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, AI, ML, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in ML, search infrastructure, or distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with large-scale search/recommendation platforms
• Understanding of IR, knowledge graphs, and structured query systems
• Experience with RAG systems and LLM applications
• Proficiency in Python, Go, Java, C#, or C++
• Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, and vector databases
