Uvik Software is hiring a Python Backend Engineer to design and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Python, Flask, or FastAPI. The role involves integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI-powered functionality into backend applications. This is a fully remote, full-time contractor position open to candidates based in the USA or LATAM.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Python, Flask, or FastAPI
- Build clean, maintainable, and scalable solutions following Python best practices and PEP8
- Work with SQL databases, particularly PostgreSQL
- Develop unit and integration tests using Pytest
- Create and maintain API documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI, Insomnia, or similar tools
- Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI-powered functionality into backend applications
- Work with Git-based development workflows and participate in code reviews
- Debug, troubleshoot, and improve existing backend systems
- Contribute to CI/CD processes and development automation
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members in an Agile environment
- Communicate effectively with an international team in English
