We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Research Engineer with expertise in NLP and LLMs to join a team in Cambridge, UK. The role involves investigating cutting-edge research concepts, prototyping algorithms, and evaluating feasibility for industry-leading software products. Ideal candidates hold a Ph.D. in a relevant field and have strong academic and practical backgrounds.
Responsibilities
- Investigate latest research in machine learning algorithms, primarily within NLP and some Computer Vision
- Prototype research concepts and determine output quality, efficiency, and feasibility
- Make suggestions based on research feasibility to shape future projects and products
Requirements
- Ph.D. from a world-leading university in Computer Science, Physics, Maths, or similar
- Expert knowledge in LLMs, NLP, and Machine Learning/AI
- Strong coding ability in Python
- Good understanding of software engineering concepts
- Excellent academic record (minimum 2.1 degree)
Nice to Have
- Published papers in relevant fields
- Experience working with large data sets
