PATH is seeking a Research Engineer to join its AI for Health initiative, building and running evaluation pipelines to test AI models and products for safe and effective mental health support. You will develop simulated users and automated LLM judges, collaborating with leading AI evaluation labs. This full-time role is based in London with occasional international travel.
Responsibilities
- Build and run benchmarking pipelines for AI evaluation in global mental health.
- Create simulated users and automated LLM judges to score conversations.
- Collaborate with technical partners to adapt tooling for different countries and languages.
- Write well-tested, documented code for open release.
- Support research across PATH's AI portfolio and lead discrete projects.
Requirements
- BSc or MSc in computer science, software engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong Python skills with experience in well-tested, maintainable code.
- Proven experience evaluating AI models, e.g., evaluation pipelines.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, containers, and data pipelines (AWS, GCP, Azure, Docker).
- Ability to work independently with external partners and explain technical work clearly.
