Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Relevance

Patreon is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join its Relevance team. The team builds the ML systems powering search, ranking, feed relevance, and creator-fan matching on the platform. You will analyze data, build and iterate on ML models, and deploy them to production. This is a hybrid role based in San Francisco or New York.

• Conduct exploratory data analyses and proof-of-concept ML models to understand opportunities.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, design, legal, and trust & safety teams to design ML solutions.
• Analyze and prepare training data, including using crowdsourcing data labeling techniques.
• Train and iterate on ML models using novel techniques.
• Deploy ML models to production and write backend code when necessary.
• Debug models based on observability and iterate on performance.

• 5+ years of experience in an end-to-end ML team environment: data analysis, model building, production code, monitoring, and A/B testing.
• Clean, robust code in Python or other programming languages.
• Systematic debugging of complex systems.
• Strong dataset analysis for product and customer insights.
• Clear technical documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
