OpenAI is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer based in Madrid to partner with strategic customers in deploying frontier AI models into production. This role bridges customer delivery and core platform development, requiring deep technical expertise in LLMs and full-stack engineering alongside strong bilingual communication skills. The engineer will lead end-to-end deployments, from discovery and scoping to building production-grade systems and providing feedback to improve model roadmaps.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex end-to-end deployments of frontier models in production for strategic customers
- Build full-stack systems using Python and JavaScript that deliver measurable customer value
- Partner directly with customer engineering teams to understand needs and guide adoption
- Contribute code, scope work, and remove blockers to ensure timely delivery
- Share field feedback with Research and Product teams to influence model improvements
Requirements
- 6+ years of engineering or technical deployment experience with customer-facing work
- Professional fluency in Spanish and English
- Experience writing and reviewing production-grade code in Python and/or JavaScript
- Proven track record of scoping and delivering complex systems in ambiguous environments
