NVIDIA Research in Austin, TX is hiring a Research Scientist (PhD New College Grad 2026) focused on Machine Learning Systems (MLSys). The team develops hardware, software, and infrastructure technology for efficient, scalable, and resilient ML systems across training, fine-tuning, and serving. You will co-design next-generation AI/ML algorithms and systems and collaborate with research and product teams spanning software, hardware, AI, and networking.
Responsibilities
- Understand and analyze efficiency, scaling, and resilience challenges in ML systems, algorithms, and applications
- Develop creative hardware, software, and infrastructure solutions for future ML systems of all scales
- Contribute to the co-design of next-generation AI/ML algorithms and systems
- Collaborate with diverse research and product teams across software, hardware, AI, and networking
- Publish original research and speak at conferences and events
Requirements
- Recent PhD graduate in CS/CE/EE (or equivalent experience) with a strong background in operating systems, distributed systems, inference and training systems, data management, networking, cloud computing, and/or computer architecture
- Demonstrated expertise in one specific systems area with the ability to become the go-to resource within a varied team
