Granicus is hiring a Software Engineer 4, AI-Native to lead production software development using AI coding agents. This remote role focuses on directing agent-driven workstreams, rigorously reviewing AI-generated code, and building evaluation suites to maintain quality and security in a FedRAMP-authorized environment. The position is open to candidates in the USA and supports the company's Govtech mission.
Responsibilities
Direct the agent array on production workstreams: decompose problems into agent-executable tasks, dispatch them, and integrate output into shipped software.
Review agent-generated pull requests at volume and depth, identifying correctness, security, and accessibility defects that automated tests miss.
Author evaluation suites that make quality measurable and practice eval-driven development.
Own quality end to end, including correctness, performance, security posture, and WCAG accessibility.
Advance workstreams along the autonomy ladder based on measured reliability, and revert when necessary.
Maintain agent operations within the security boundary: branch-only execution, vaulted credentials, sandboxed actions, and in-VPC inference.
Requirements
Strong engineering fundamentals in data structures, systems design, and testing.
Track record of shipping production software and owning its quality, including diagnosis and remediation of failures.

Hands-on experience directing coding agents on production work and reviewing agent-generated code critically.
Demonstrated code-review competence with actionable feedback and a high quality bar.
High autonomy and proactive escalation.
Experience in high-assurance or regulated environments such as FedRAMP, defense, financial services, healthcare, or NIST 800-53 / SOC 2 / HIPAA-bound systems.
Depth in evaluation authoring or test-first development within a rigorous engineering culture.
Full-stack range to review front-end and back-end agent output with equal confidence.
