About the Role
This role is for a hands-on AI/Software Engineer to build production-grade AI solutions at Product Hackers, a remote-first growth company. You will design backend systems, orchestrate multi-agent workflows, and integrate LLMs with business data and APIs. The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering fundamentals with practical experience building AI agents and using AI-assisted coding tools.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop backend logic and architecture for AI solutions using Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js.
- Build, deploy, and optimize multi-agent systems and complex agentic workflows.
- Integrate LLMs with databases, APIs, and external systems using Model Context Protocol (MCP).
- Evaluate when to use commercial APIs vs. open-source models (Llama, Mistral, Qwen) based on cost, latency, and privacy.
- Incorporate AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) into daily workflows.
Requirements
- 4+ years of software development experience, with strong backend focus in Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js.
- 2-3 years of practical AI experience building and deploying systems with agent orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, Claude Agent SDK, or OpenAI Agents SDK.
- Solid understanding of agent design patterns (planning, tool use, memory, evaluation).
- Experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and MLOps/observability tooling.
