The Incubator for Artificial Intelligence (i.AI) is hiring a Senior Applied AI Engineer to move cutting-edge AI from experimentation into production. You will build and deploy AI systems that address real-world problems at national scale across the UK Government. The role is based in Manchester and sits at the intersection of applied machine learning and public-sector delivery.
Responsibilities
- Build and deploy production AI systems for UK Government use cases
- Take AI projects from experimentation through to production delivery
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve real-world problems at national scale
- Ensure deployed AI systems are reliable and fit for public-sector use
Requirements
- Experience building and deploying AI/ML systems in production
- Strong applied engineering skills across the AI development lifecycle
- Ability to translate experimental AI approaches into working products
- Eligibility to work on UK Government projects
Nice to Have
- Experience in public-sector or regulated environments
- Familiarity with large-scale deployment of AI services
