About the Role
ICON is seeking a Senior AI Engineering Manager to lead the engineering operations behind its enterprise AI platform and multi-agent framework. The role combines technical expertise with people leadership to ensure AI solutions are secure, scalable, and production-grade. Responsibilities include driving engineering excellence, establishing monitoring and observability, building and mentoring a cross-functional team, and embedding responsible AI principles. The position is based in Dublin, Ireland with hybrid working.
Responsibilities
- Lead development, stability, and continuous improvement of the central AI platform, multi-agent framework, and agent services
- Drive engineering excellence through best practices in code quality, CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment governance
- Establish robust monitoring, observability, and incident management processes for production-grade reliability
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing cross-functional engineering team
- Oversee resource planning and delivery across multiple concurrent AI programmes
- Embed security, compliance, and responsible AI principles into all engineering outputs
- Act as a key engineering partner to stakeholders, contributing to strategic planning and technology roadmaps
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering with a track record of leading and developing engineering teams
- Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating AI/ML systems in production environments
