Harvard University Information Technology (HUIT) is hiring an AI Solutions Architect to serve as the bridge between the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) community and the rapidly evolving AI landscape. The Architect leads opportunity discovery, problem definition, stakeholder alignment, and overall solution architecture, working hands-on in a paired team with an AI Solutions Engineer from prototype through production delivery. The role also owns the governance path—security, privacy, accessibility, and data governance—that turns AI prototypes into secure, sustainable university services.
Responsibilities
- Engage faculty, researchers, and staff across FAS to identify and frame AI opportunities and define intended outcomes
- Lead requirements gathering, tool selection, and solution design aligned with university data, security, and privacy policy
- Scope problem statements and lead rapid prototyping with AI platforms, APIs, and low-code/no-code tools
- Assess sustainability including cost, security, maintenance, and service-owner capacity; define readiness and acceptance criteria
- Own governance relationships (security, privacy, accessibility, data governance, research computing) and secure approvals for supported services
- Communicate across all levels of technical fluency and lead stakeholder alignment throughout delivery
- Document architectures, decisions, and trade-offs for maintainability
