Hark is an AI company building personalized, multimodal intelligence paired with next-generation hardware. As an Embedded AI Engineer, you will own the full on-device AI stack, from sensor data ingestion and model development to optimization and deployment on embedded systems. You will collaborate with AI researchers to co-design models that meet strict latency, memory, power, and bandwidth constraints. This role is based on-site in San Jose, CA.
Responsibilities
Build data collection and ingestion pipelines for embedded systems with various sensors at scale
Co-design model architectures with model teams to meet latency, memory, power, and bandwidth requirements
Work with platform vendors to bring up toolchains, SDKs, and new accelerators for efficient model deployment
Integrate ML inference into embedded firmware written in C, C++, or Rust
Profile and optimize memory usage, power consumption, and real-time performance
Evaluate and select silicon platforms (GPUs, NPUs, etc.) for on-device and edge deployment
Requirements
5 years of experience in machine learning engineering, with at least 2 years focused on embedded or edge ML
Familiarity with embedded systems and CPU/DSP/NPU hardware architectures
