About the Role
Google is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join its Search Evaluation and Quality team in Mountain View. The role focuses on institutionalizing Evaluation-Driven Development (EDD) for generative AI features, and managing AutoRater alignment and evaluation infrastructure. You will play a key part in ensuring high-quality search experiences through robust evaluation systems.
Responsibilities

- Drive improvements in search evaluation quality and processes.
Requirements
- Experience in software engineering, AI/ML, and evaluation systems.

- Experience with LLM-based systems and AI/ML evaluation frameworks.
Nice to Have
- Experience with AutoRater or similar AI evaluation tools.
- Background in search quality or information retrieval.
