FeverUp is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its AI & Developer Experience team in Madrid. This role focuses on building the infrastructure, harnesses, and evaluation systems for agentic AI workflows that enhance product engineering efficiency across the organization. The ideal candidate combines strong backend engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience shipping LLM applications and multi-agent orchestration systems.

Responsibilities

Build agentic harnesses including skills, sub-agents, guardrails, and verification systems for high-quality output.
Develop shared knowledge substrates (RAG) for agents to read from and write into.
Own cloud dev environments, CI runtime, and autonomous-delivery rails for agent runs and pull requests.
Design and implement evaluation metrics (DORA, lead time) to measure AI impact on squad productivity.
Optimize inference economics through model routing, prompt caching, and cost/quality trade-off analysis.

Requirements

5+ years of experience building and operating production software at scale.
Strong backend fundamentals: RESTful APIs, SQL, distributed systems, and event-driven patterns.
1-2+ years of experience shipping LLM applications to production.
Hands-on expertise in context engineering, RAG, and multi-agent orchestration.
Proficiency in English and ability to work in an ambiguous, fast-paced startup environment.

Nice to Have

Experience building internal developer platforms or tools for other engineers.
Public contributions to open-source agent harnesses, AI evaluation, or DevEx projects.
Experience with DORA metrics and engineering performance measurement.
