CNRS is hiring an MLOps Research Engineer to develop and operate AI services for the Progedo national infrastructure supporting social science research. The role involves deploying and monitoring language models, building a national registry of models and training data, and running a multi-year AI engineering training program. You will work with dedicated servers and local LLM hosting for research laboratories.
Responsibilities
- Deploy and monitor AI models and services for research communities
- Build a national registry of models and training data for AI in social sciences
- Set up local hosting for LLM services for laboratories
- Track model usage and detect statistical drift
- Coordinate and deliver a multi-year AI engineering training plan
- Support researchers in using AI tools and services
Requirements
- Mastery of Docker and orchestration architectures (e.g., Kubernetes)
- Strong knowledge of deep learning
- Understanding of language model architectures (dense, mixture of experts)
- Experience with vLLM or Llama.cpp
- CI/CD proficiency
- Web service deployment skills
- Experience with lifecycle tracking tools (e.g., MLflow)
