Chai Discovery is seeking a Research Engineer to build agent-powered systems that automate the biochemical research loop. You will develop frameworks to improve model training and inference, enabling AI agents to run experiments and propose next steps in drug discovery. This role focuses on pushing the frontier of AI-driven therapeutic engineering alongside a rigorous research team.
Responsibilities
- Build agent-powered systems and frameworks to accelerate model training and inference
- Automate the research loop by creating tooling for agents to run experiments and evaluate results
- Develop datasets and infrastructure supporting real-world therapeutic engineering projects
- Collaborate with researchers to integrate AI solutions into biochemical structure prediction
Requirements
- Deep industry experience working with top AI/ML teams on agent-powered software
- Strong system design skills and proficiency in Python
- Fluency in PyTorch or JAX
- Demonstrated exceptional impact on real-world problems and systems
Nice to Have
- Experience in biochemistry or life sciences applications of AI
