The Healthcare AI/ML Engineer develops and implements AI/ML solutions for healthcare applications at Lurie Children's Hospital. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams including data scientists and clinicians to design, develop, and deploy models that improve patient outcomes. The position ensures compliance with healthcare regulations and stays current with AI/ML advancements.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify healthcare challenges for AI/ML impact.
Develop and implement AI/ML algorithms using Epic-built and in-house technologies.
Extract, transform, and preprocess healthcare data for model building.
Validate and optimize AI/ML models with data scientists and clinicians.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, and other healthcare regulations.
Stay updated on AI/ML technologies and healthcare domain knowledge.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, or related field (Master's preferred).
3+ years of experience in machine learning, deep learning, and statistical modeling.
Proficiency in programming languages and frameworks commonly used in AI/ML.
Experience with healthcare data such as EHR, medical imaging, or genomic data.
Knowledge of healthcare regulations and privacy standards (HIPAA, GDPR).
