SDM, ML Data Infra, Amazon Traffic Engineering - Vancouver

Amazon's Traffic Engineering Bot Management organization is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead a team building core ML data infrastructure. This role owns the end-to-end data platform—from source ingestion through transformation, feature engineering, and serving—to support training, evaluation, and inference for bot detection and AI agent identification. The position involves close partnership with science and ML platform teams to deliver reliable, scalable data systems.

• Own the Feature Store, feature pipelines, and data serving layer
• Design and operate Apache Flink applications and live stream data processing
• Own batch and near real-time pipelines across multiple source systems
• Serve as primary data infrastructure partner to Applied Scientists and ML Platform
• Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing team of SDEs and DEs

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
• 3+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems
• 8+ years of leading definition and development of multi tier web services
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for full software/hardware/networks development life cycle
