Tandem Health is seeking a Senior LLM Engineer to design and ship production-grade, AI-native healthcare products used daily by clinicians across Europe. You will lead end-to-end development of agentic workflows, evaluation pipelines, and model infrastructure while collaborating closely with product and engineering teams. This role offers substantial ownership over technical direction and product strategy in a fast-moving startup environment.
Responsibilities
- Build and scale deeply integrated LLM-powered product experiences for healthcare professionals
- Lead AI initiatives from concept to production, defining technical direction and product strategy
- Design robust systems around prompting, orchestration, retrieval, agents, and speech technologies
- Own projects end-to-end, including architecture, deployment, and continuous iteration
- Improve performance, latency, reliability, and cost-efficiency across the AI stack
Requirements
- 5+ years of engineering experience with 2-4 years focused on shipping LLM-powered products
- Strong hands-on experience applying modern LLMs in production environments
- Experience building agentic workflows or complex multi-step LLM systems
- Proficiency with Python, TypeScript, React, and Kubernetes
