About the Role
The SEI AI Division seeks a Machine Learning Engineer to join the AI for Autonomy Lab. This role involves applied research and engineering in machine learning for autonomous systems, working with interdisciplinary teams to prototype capabilities for government customers. Requires deep technical knowledge in AI/ML, system engineering, and eligibility for security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Solution Development: Work with and lead interdisciplinary teams to turn research results into prototype operational capabilities.
- Hands-on Prototyping: Conduct and lead novel prototyping in applied AI with focus on ML in autonomy and uncrewed systems.
- Strategy: Plan and carry out research and engineering strategy.
- Collaboration: Participate on teams of developers, researchers, and technical leads.
- Mentoring: Improve technical capabilities of the team by mentoring and teaching.
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science or related discipline with 8+ years experience; MS with 5+; PhD with 2+.
- Ability to work onsite 5 days per week in Pittsburgh, PA or Arlington, VA.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain Department of War security clearance.
- Deep technical knowledge in machine learning, AI, and related tools.
- Experience with systems engineering and multi-disciplinary teams.
