Pi School is hiring an Earth Observation AI Engineer to build EVE (Earth Virtual Expert), an open-source AI platform for the European Space Agency (ESA). The role focuses on agentic frameworks, tool calling, planning, and multi-agent orchestration, while integrating Earth observation data and services. This is an on-site position based in Rome, Italy.
Responsibilities
- Develop agentic frameworks for autonomous Earth observation workflows
- Implement tool calling and planning capabilities for AI agents
- Design and orchestrate multi-agent systems
- Integrate Earth observation data and services into the EVE platform
- Contribute to open-source development for ESA
Requirements
- Experience with AI agent frameworks and tool calling
- Proficiency in Python and relevant ML libraries
- Knowledge of Earth observation data and services
- Familiarity with multi-agent orchestration
- Strong software engineering skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with open-source projects
- Background in geospatial data processing
