Senior Applied AI Engineer

NVIDIA's applied AI team for chip design seeks a Senior Applied AI Engineer to design and scale AI agents, build infrastructure for agentic tools, and collaborate with researchers to bring generative AI innovations to production. This role combines research, engineering, and product development to transform ideas into real-world solutions.

• Design, develop, and improve scalable infrastructure for AI applications, including copilots and agentic tools. Drive architecture, performance, and reliability improvements for LLMs and agent frameworks. Collaborate across hardware, software, and research teams, mentoring peers and encouraging best engineering practices. Stay informed on AI infrastructure advancements and contribute to innovation.

• MS or higher degree (or equivalent) in CS, Engineering, AI, or related field with 5+ years of software engineering experience building production-grade systems and shipping AI/LLM-powered applications or agents. Strong Python skills. Practical experience with LLM-powered agents and agentic workflows using tools like Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot. Solid fundamentals in system design, API design, testing, CI/CD, observability, security, containers, and distributed systems. Ability to identify and automate high-friction workflows. End-to-end ownership of engineering solutions. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
