LawZero is seeking a Senior ML Research Scientist to advance a novel AI safety agenda. You will design and implement innovative ML models to solve complex AI safety problems, collaborating with mathematicians and research scientists. The role involves adapting frontier models, designing experimental protocols, and benchmarking performance. This is a non-profit research organization founded on methods proposed by Professor Yoshua Bengio.
Responsibilities
- Propose, design, and implement novel ML models for AI safety problems
- Collaborate with mathematicians and research scientists to integrate theoretical advancements
- Adapt and fine-tune existing frontier models for specific settings
- Design and implement experimental protocols and evaluation frameworks
- Analyze and interpret experimental data to steer research
- Benchmark and optimize model performance and efficiency
- Communicate findings and synchronize work with researchers and engineers
Requirements
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field (PhD preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in deep learning research, particularly with frontier models
- Experience in training, adaptation, and/or fine-tuning of frontier models
