Ford Motor Company is seeking a Camera Software Engineering Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of in-vehicle camera features, bridging IVI software and embedded firmware. This role involves managing engineering teams and coordinating across cross-functional groups to ship reliable camera capabilities, including ML-powered object detection and live video streaming. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in automotive software stacks, Linux/RTOS systems, and computer vision workflows.
Responsibilities
- Own the full feature lifecycle for in-vehicle camera capabilities from requirements to OTA release
- Manage and lead engineering teams delivering shipped products
- Coordinate across Android, firmware, hardware/SoC partners, security, and quality teams
- Drive alignment between IVI software and embedded camera firmware
- Ensure reliable implementation of machine-learning inference and computer-vision workflows on resource-constrained platforms
Requirements
- 7–10 years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in leadership
- Deep expertise in either IVI (Kotlin/Java, AAOS, Jetpack Compose) or Embedded OS (C/C++, Linux, RTOS/Zephyr)
- Solid understanding of Linux fundamentals, system-level programming, and driver integration
