Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Applied AI & LLMs

Doctolib is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to build AI and ML systems that improve how patients access care. You will work on intelligent patient-facing solutions, including search, retrieval, personalized care pathways, and LLM/VLM-powered features. This role involves deploying production-scale AI systems and orchestrating agentic AI across Doctolib's European healthcare platform.

• Design and implement ML/AI solutions for patient products, covering search, retrieval, and personalized care pathways
• Build and maintain large-scale retrieval pipelines with hybrid search, embeddings, vector databases, and multi-stage re-ranking
• Develop, fine-tune, and evaluate LLM and VLM models using knowledge distillation, MoE architectures, and prompt engineering
• Build and orchestrate agentic AI systems with tools and MCP-based integrations
• Define metrics, run controlled experiments with W&B, MLFlow, or Braintrust, and communicate insights
• Deploy solutions in production, ensuring reliability, observability, and performance at scale

• 7+ years of experience in ML, Deep Learning, or AI Engineering with production launches at scale
• Strong experience in modern retrieval stacks: hybrid search, embeddings, vector DBs, RAG, and MCP integrations
• Proficiency in LLM/VLM application development: fine-tuning, MoE, knowledge distillation, and benchmarking
