AI Researcher for Mobility

AVA Consulting is seeking an AI Researcher for a major mobility client in Mountain View, CA. The role involves cutting-edge research on agentic AI, multi-agent systems, large language models, world models, and reinforcement learning. The researcher will design multi-agent AI systems, develop teacher-student learning frameworks, prototype with AutoGen and LangChain, and publish findings in top-tier venues.

• Develop innovative AI/ML solutions for mobility services
• Design and develop multi-agent AI systems for collaboration, negotiation, planning, and task execution
• Research LLM-based reasoning and autonomous planning for long-horizon decision making
• Build teacher-student learning frameworks to transfer capabilities from large foundation models to compact edge models
• Prototype algorithms in Python using AutoGen, LangChain, or custom orchestration layers
• Publish research in top-tier conferences and journals and generate intellectual property

• PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline with AI/ML focus
• Research experience in Generative AI, Agentic AI, and AI Safety/Alignment
• Experience with foundation models (LLMs, VLMs) including fine-tuning, evaluation, and domain-specific application
• Strong programming skills in Python and common libraries such as TensorFlow and PyTorch
