Archer seeks a Principal AI Research Engineer to design, implement, and evaluate novel machine learning and deep learning algorithms for all-electric aircraft. The role involves developing AI models, collaborating on research, and transitioning prototypes to production. Requires an MS/PhD in CS/CE with strong AI/ML background, expertise in PyTorch/TensorFlow, and knowledge of transformer architectures and multi-modal models. Bonus qualifications include reinforcement learning, VLA models, and publications.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and evaluate novel machine learning and deep learning algorithms.
- Iterate on AI model development from data to deployment.
- Collaborate with researcher engineers to prototype and validate solutions from academic literature.
- Conduct experiments to benchmark new techniques and evaluate model behavior.
- Develop tools and frameworks for scalable and reproducible research.
- Communicate research findings to leadership.
- Stay current with AI/ML developments and identify innovations.
- Assist in transitioning research prototypes into production-ready systems.
Requirements
- M.S or PhD in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with strong emphasis on AI and ML.
- Familiarity with good software practices, including code quality and version control.
