Product ML Engineer

PhotoRoom is hiring a Product ML Engineer to own ML projects end-to-end within one of its product experience teams (SMB, Scaler, or Enterprise). The role focuses on shipping customer-facing ML features quickly, choosing between fine-tuning internal models and integrating external APIs. You'll work in the product codebase, measure impact in production, and collaborate closely with both product and ML teams.

• Embed directly within a product team and own ML projects end to end, from problem framing to production monitoring.
• Decide build vs. buy: fine-tune internal models or integrate external models, APIs, or libraries.
• Ship features quickly on a weeks-long horizon and iterate based on user feedback and production metrics.
• Write production code in the product codebase and build sound evaluations to maintain quality in production.
• Collaborate with the ML team, leveraging shared infrastructure and evaluation tooling.

• 2+ years of hands-on experience building and shipping ML-powered products.
• Strong experience with PyTorch or equivalent frameworks such as TensorFlow or JAX.
• Ability to fine-tune vision or diffusion models, design meaningful evaluations, and debug training runs.
• Comfortable working in production codebases and writing maintainable code.
• Product-minded with strong ownership and a pragmatic builder approach.
